Gianpiero De Vallier, affectionately known as Piero, is the co-founder of Pizza da Piero, Ireland’s favourite pizza base. Piero’s journey began with his family’s Italian recipes, passed down through generations.

Growing up in Treviso near Venice, Italy, Piero started baking bread when he was about 15 years old. As an Italian artisan baker, Piero has over thirty years of experience in bakeries across Europe. His expertise in sourdough starters infuses each of their bases with unbeatable quality and flavour.

With Cliona Swan, his Irish wife, they established Pizza da Piero, originally named The Artisan Pizza Company - in November 2007, the same year they married. Since then, Piero has brought to the Irish market the highest quality, multi-award-winning artisan pizza bases available.

Piero’s Pizza Bases are handcrafted daily by Piero and his team in Rathcoole, Co Dublin. Each large base (12”) is made with a pre-fermented sourdough starter and left for over 48 hours to rest and be mixed. They contain only 365 calories, allowing you to create your genuine Italian pizza in five minutes at home. The mini bases (5”) contain 130 calories.
